This Privacy Policy explains how Edison Dental Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects and uses information through this website. It also describes how your protected health information is handled under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). By using this website, you agree to the practices described here.

When you submit the contact or appointment request forms, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, reason for visit, doctor preference, and any message you write. We use these details only to respond to you and coordinate your care.

We also collect limited usage data: which pages are viewed, the date and time, your browser and device type, and the site that referred you here. A random identifier stored in your browser helps us count returning visitors. We do not link this data to your name, email address, or any account.

Some of this usage data is also collected by Google Analytics, a service provided by Google. It sets its own cookies in your browser and receives the pages you view and certain things you tap, such as a phone number or a booking link. We do not send Google anything you type into our forms — not your name, email address, phone number, message, or any insurance detail. Google processes what it does receive under its own privacy policy, and we have turned off the settings that would let it build an advertising profile from your visit.

We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiries, schedule and coordinate appointments, and improve our website and services. We do not sell your information. The details you submit through our forms are not shared with advertisers or unrelated third parties. Anonymous usage data is shared with Google Analytics, as described under Cookies and analytics below.

As a dental practice, we are a “covered entity” under HIPAA and are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your protected health information (PHI), the individually identifiable health information we create or receive in the course of providing your care. Our use and disclosure of PHI is governed by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes your rights and our legal duties regarding your health information. A copy is available at our office and upon request.

Please note: this website is not a secure channel for transmitting protected health information. Do not include detailed medical history, diagnoses, insurance ID numbers, or other sensitive health details in website forms or email. To share that information, please call us at (732) 985-1120 or discuss it in person at the office.

Information submitted through this website is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored with reputable service providers under contractual safeguards. Access to form submissions is limited to authorized practice staff. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

This website uses cookies and similar browser storage for two purposes. The first is our own: a random identifier that lets us count returning visitors and see which pages are useful. The second is Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to measure how the site is found and used, so we can tell which pages help patients reach us.

We use this only to understand how the website performs. We do not use it to target advertising to you, and we do not combine it with your dental records or anything you send us through a form.

Some features of this site rely on third-party providers, which handle data under their own privacy policies: website analytics are provided by Google Analytics, the map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps, online scheduling is handled by Modento on its own website, and links to reviews direct you to Google. Our website and its form submissions are hosted on secure infrastructure provided by our technology vendors.

You can ask us to delete messages you have sent through the website at any time. Clearing your browser's site data removes the anonymous visitor identifier.

For the protected health information held by the practice, HIPAA gives you rights, including the right to access your records, request corrections, and receive an accounting of certain disclosures, as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the site. We proudly provide dental care to patients of all ages; health information for minor patients is handled in accordance with HIPAA and applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date below.
